Salinity is one of the primary properties of sea water and is a function of conductivity, temperature, and the pressure inferred from the sensor depth. The reader is encouraged to consult [Fotonoff] and [Millero] for algorithmic details. This parameter is computed for SBE37s, SBE16s, and SBE 16-03s.
conductivity ratio, R = C(S,T,P)/C(35,15,0) [no units]. C(S,T,P) is the conductivity parameter.
temperature: ° C (IPTS-68)
pressure: units of db, computed from the depth.
