Variable: | Vector Averaged Wind Direction |
Units | degrees |
Description |
Meteorologic Convention (direction from which the wind blows).
This is a true vector average that takes into account the wind speed. For example, if the observations over the measurement interval are an east wind at 5 knots and a west wind at 15 knots, the vector averaged wind direction would be a west wind (at 5 knots, but the knots are not part of the wind direction). |
