A Sumerian clay tablet

This clay tablet shows Sumerian numbers in the "intermediate style", which uses stick impressions. It contains the numbers

• 2360 = 4*600 - 4*10 (the angle indicates the minus sign) at the top left,
• 3110 = 5*600 + 2*60 - 10 at the bottom left, and
• 3980 = 3,600 + 6*60 + 2*10 at the bottom right.
