  • Thank you. A couple of months ago I was planning to establish a problem statement on waves. Your web pages were helpful to me and I chose my problem statement "How does depth of water influence wave speed?" I built a small motorized wave generator and utilized an aquarium which had a slope and also a manual wave paddle. I measured 3 different depths of water with 4 variable wave speeds. The data showed that the wave speed was slower in shallower water and wave length was also smaller. Amazingly enough, I must have put together a good science fair project because last week it was announced that I had placed second out of the entire Middle School. Thanks again for your initial help.
