Absorption (a)

Input

  1. Raw absorption counts for each of the nine AC9 wavelengths. In the NetCDF file, these are absorption_signal_xxxnm_counts, where xxx is 412, 440, 488, 510, 532, 555, 650, 676, and 715 nanometers.

  2. Absorption reference counts for each of the nine AC9 wavelengths. In the NetCDF file, these are absorption_reference_xxxnm_counts, where xxx is 412, 440, 488, 510, 532, 555, 650, 676, and 715 nanometers.

  3. Serial number for AC9 instrument

  4. Internal temperature counts for AC9 sample, ac9_internal_temperature.

  5. Temperature from nearest MicroCAT, temperature.

  6. Salinity from nearest MicroCAT, salinity.

Ancillary Requirements

  1. AC9 calibration file.

MATLAB m-file

AC9Convert.m

Output

TS corrected absorption coefficients for each of AC9 wavelengths, units of 1/m. In the output NetCDF file, this is stored as one variable, a.

Note

a only differs from absorption_TS in that a correction is performed for the 715 nm wavelength.
