Current Meter

Aanderaa is a Norwegian company that makes current meters, among other things. The Aanderaa current meters on the GoMOOS buoys are mounted at a depth of two meters below the surface and measure the following parameters.

• Current Speed

• Current Direction

• Water Temperature

When the data is archived, the east and north components of the current are derived from the speed and direction.
